NEAS is a collective of artists and relies on its members to not only fill the Gallery with their diverse artwork but also work together to fill the many roles it takes to run a Gallery, to keep it open and functioning. A 30% commission is placed on all works exhibited, there is space to hold a booked exhibition of your works, art prizes to enter, a workshop space and an annual artists retreat.

Being a regular volunteer at the Gallery is a great way to keep connected with others in the arts community where you can’t help but be inspired by their journeys and endeavours.

One of the major activities that members take on is monitoring the Gallery. Our members keep the Gallery open by giving some hours a week, a fortnight, a month. A great way to get to know the local arts community.

The many ways members can contribute to the Gallery:

• helping at the Openings;
• distributing promotional material;
• working bees, general cleaning, maintenance;
• hanging exhibitions;
• marketing, social media, e-news;
• joining the committee;
• grant writing, etc.
